Lutong Pinoy 2 (Porksilog) @ Lucky Plaza Orchard Road; Singapore

After a long day of running from Punggol to a job interview, I was again, tired and hungry. So since I was nearby Orchard Road and wanted something Filipino, I headed to Lucky Plaza (which my friends and I have fondly called "Little Philippines", since most of the shops and crowd are Filipinos, like myself).

I went down to the basement and snaked my way through the crowd to the Asia Food Mall food court and decided on going for Lutong Pinoy 2.

Their menu is mostly what we (Filipinos) have called as "Silog". It's a term for "ulam" (Filipino: meat/main dish) served with rice and a fried egg on top of it.

So if you see "Tapsilog", it is Tapa (Filipino: dried/cured beef, sometimes mutton; sometimes sweet) served with Rice (usually garlic rice) with a Fried Egg on top of it.

I opted for the Porksilog this time. So it is basically deep fried pork (close to lechon kawali) served with garlic rice and egg. The order also included a bowl of soup (the broth of "Bulalo"; Filipino: Beef Shank and Bone Marrow soup).

The deep fried pork was quite tough and hard, I think it was a bit overcooked, so I didn't enjoy it as much (I should have opted for the Tapsilog! Definitely will get that next time!). But the garlic rice was to die for! It was just as delicious and "fragrant" as it is back home.
